St.Giles Allied Health is excited to announce the expansion of our Hobart based, Early-Intervention Key Worker team. To support this, we are looking for experienced transdisciplinary, early-intervention professionals to join our multidisciplinary team. This position involves acting as a primary point of contact between St.Giles families and their care team, working collaboratively with other professionals to both coordinate and deliver best-practice, early intervention strategies to children with a disability. The role is deep rooted in the belief that children learn best through play, families are the experts on their child, and capacity-building supports lead to sustainable long-term outcomes.

What working in this role with St.Giles involves:

  • Provide evidence-based, capacity-building interventions to children (0-9) and families within a transdisciplinary framework.
  • Act as the family’s primary point of contact, coordinating allied health, community, and mainstream supports. 
  • Deliver play-based, strengths-focused early intervention strategies within everyday routines and natural environments.
  • Facilitate child-led, family-centred goal setting that reflects strengths, routines, priorities, and cultural values. 
  • Provide coaching to caregivers to build confidence and capacity in supporting their child’s development. 
  • Conduct visits to schools, homes, early learning centres and related venues as required/appropriate. 
  • Engage appropriately in supervision and other training/development opportunities both individually and in collaboration with our team, to help promote the outcomes for our families.

What we need to be able to get you on board:

  • Current registration with the appropriate registration board, as one of the following: Occupational Therapist, Speech Pathologist, Physiotherapist, Psychologist, Social Worker, or a Specialist Educator.
  • A genuine passion for wanting to help Tasmanian children and their families.
  • Experience working within a transdisciplinary model and an NDIS framework.
  • Demonstrated understanding of evidence-based best practice standards for a range of presenting issues.
  • Proven capacity and ability to work with professional integrity and support vulnerable people.
  • An understanding of policies, procedures and regulations including mandatory reporting obligations.
  • Current driver’s licence.
  • National Police Check (no older than 3 months).
  • Current or ability to apply for Working with Vulnerable People Card/NDIS Worker Screening Check.
