St.Giles Niche Market returned to Launceston’s The Tramsheds function centre in April with a well attended Mother’s Day Market.
Now in it’s 15th year, the Niche Market saw 50 stallholders from across Tasmania set up for the market, with half a dozen new makers brushing shoulders with some old favourites.
“Each year we’re excited to invite new and emerging makers along to Niche, but we’re just as happy to welcome back some of our old favourites,” market manager Scott Gelston said.
“Personally I was excited to see a number of new makers head north from Hobart for their first visit to Niche, along with seeing our own St.Giles Kitchen make their first appearance.”
The St.Giles Kitchen program is a partnership between St.Giles, FermenTasmania and Sandy’s Sourdough and involves a group of participants on a week long baking workshop, learning pizza and bread making skills in a commercial kitchen before trying their hand in a retail setting at a local market.
Niche Market will return to the Tramsheds in November and St.Giles Kitchen will be be back in action later in 2024.
