St.Giles Burn – new course announced!

Tickets are available NOW via TryBooking

When: 1pm, Sunday October 20th, 2024

Where: Elizabeth and Arthur Streets Launceston

The St.Giles Burn (formerly Balfour Burn) returns in 2024!

It’s the 10th anniversary of the first Burn and it’s time for a big change – a brand new location.

Now starting in Elizabeth Street, the course climbs up to the Welman Street junction where a right hand kink delivers runners to the finish line on Arthur Street adjacent to the new finish line precinct at St.Georges Square.

The course again features almost 40 metres of vertical climbing, or thirteen flights of stairs, over the 400 metre length.

“We’re excited to announce the details for this year’s St.Giles Burn as we think this new location will make for an even better day out for families and competitors,” event manager Scott Gelston said.

“We surveyed last year’s entrants for feedback and the overwhelming majority asked for more attractions at the finish line, and by moving the event to St.Georges Square we’re able to have space for food and drink options and children’s attractions which will add to the fun of the event.”

Along with the change of location, entrants now have the opportunity to fundraise their way to their way to The Burn through the Just Giving peer-to-peer fundraising platform: St.Giles Burn – JustGiving

Patrons using this platform simply have to raise more than the value of their entry ticket, $10 children and $20 adults, to be able to take part.

Keep an eye out as we announce sponsors and more race-day details over the coming weeks.
