Our Supported Independent Living options provide opportunities for you to live independently in your own home or one of St.Giles properties. 

Our staff will support you with daily tasks like personal care and cooking meals, and empower you to be as independent as possible in an environment that promotes life skills learning and development.

The focus of our Supported Independent Living is based on choice and control, person-centred supports and active support.

St.Giles model of Supported Independent Living works on a 24/7 rostered basis. Your NDIS plan will determine the level of support that you need and the model that will benefit you the most.

St.Giles Accommodation Options

Our teams will work with you to find a property that suits your needs and allow you to live with people you feel comfortable with, in an environment you feel safe in, and in a way that is respectful and meaningful to you.

It is a great way to learn to live with other people with access to friendly and qualified Support Professionals.

The level of support is dependent on the need with some properties operating with waking night shifts and others with a sleep shift. 

Our Team will work with you and your housemates to work out how to set house rules, how to live together, and how to take care of the household finances. We want you and your housemates to be in control of how your house functions.

Get organised

You may have a number of different appointments with doctors and specialists – so start a notebook of all conversations and appointments. Keep all documents together in a single folder – you will need to keep receipts, invoices, forms etc…

Review funding options

Every case is unique. StGiles can help you identify the services to meet your needs and the best funding option available for your situation.

Funding options include:

  • Medicare plans
  • Private health
  • NDIS
  • Self-funded: you can pay the full fee without any funding.

NDIS Support Coordination

If you are eligible for the NDIS, it may take several months for your funding and Plan to be approved. StGiles can assist you with NDIS plan co-ordination and management (including some or all of the funding including financial, legal and administrative requirements).

NDIS service provider

Once you have an approved NDIS Plan, it is up to you to choose a Disability Service Provider(s). StGiles offers an extensive range of services for both adults and children living with disability. Our services can be tailored to meeting individual needs, delivered individually or as a package, and can change as your needs evolve.
