Joanna Keenlyside
Joanna Keenlyside is a highly accomplished Occupational Therapist with a strong foundation in health care. She has over 18 years of experience working in Occupational Therapy at St Giles. She began her career with a Bachelor of Nursing (Honours) from the University of Tasmania in 1997, working across diverse healthcare settings. Her passion for supporting developmental and meaningful functional outcomes led her to pursue Occupational Therapy, graduating with First Class Honours from the University of South Australia in 2006.
Joanna’s clinical expertise spans early intervention and school-aged services, and she continues to provide clinical assessment and intervention for children and young people aged 0 to 18 years. She has well developed knowledge in neurodevelopmental practice and is committed to delivering evidence-based, child- and family-led approaches. As Clinical Lead for Occupational Therapy at St Giles, Joanna plays a pivotal role in guiding therapy services across Tasmania, providing regular supervision for the team, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and driving service innovation. Joanna also prepares and delivers presentations related to child development and occupational therapy intervention to a range of community organisations.
In addition to her clinical leadership, Joanna contributes to the education of future allied health professionals through a sessional facilitator role, and through student supervision. She is currently undertaking a Diploma of Leadership in Disability Services, further strengthening her capacity to influence and lead within the sector.
